The Aquaman movie which is still over a year away has so far stayed pretty quiet about what it could entail. A few months back we heard rumors of several villains appearing in the film who would not be an integral part of the plot, instead coming into play later down the road. That same rumor also suggested the involvement of the Trench, a race of carnivorous, seal dwelling, humanoid creatures that were introduced during the New 52 by Geoff Johns. Johns coincidentally has also written the story for the film alongside director James Wan.
Earlier today this popped up on twitter:
Production team member crew shirt gives us our first graphic images of Ocean Master, Mera, Arthur, Atlanna & more characters from AQUAMAN! pic.twitter.com/Ne4jujaj1h

The image features a production team member shirt that displays from left to right, Orm the Ocean Master, possibly Black Manta, Mera, Aquaman, Queen Atlanna, and what appears to be one of the Trench. With the popularity of Aquaman rising and people embracing the newer incarnations of the character I think its pretty likely that the Johns Trench story arc will be a large inspiration for the film.
Aquaman hits cinemas December 21, 2018, but you can catch Arthur Curry in Justice League which comes out next month on November 17th.
